To all those that sent the ominous chain letters and posted the numerous bulletins on Myspace about Barack Obama being the anti-Christ, and how he didn't wear the American flag lapel pin, or how he didn't recite the Pledge of Allegiance, or sing to the Star-Spangled Banner--I can only hope that you watched or were in attendance at today's inauguration. As he did all of those things, except maybe recite the Pledge of Allegiance. He also was sworn in on Abraham Lincoln's BIBLE, had 2 Christian ministers pray, and told at least one person "God Bless You."
Today I watched the inauguration in a Gino's pizza parlor. We were supposed to have a huge tv screen set up in a theater class room on campus, which is a great idea. Except, they wanted to stream from the Internet, and it was super slow because a gazillion other people throughout also wanted to stream live. Nothing like a chicken Philly, fries, and Barack Obama. I must say that the twinkle in America's eye has returned, and I am thankful! I don't think I have ever been more happy to say that today, I am proud to be an American! This is the start of a new beginning, and I'm excited to see what the future holds for our country!!
PS I *heart* Michelle Obama as well!
PPS I thought it was awesome that one of the first kids was recording her daddy on her Kodak digital camera.
PPPS My favorite line of the speech: "....know that your people will judge you on what you can build, not what you destroy..."

And for the first time in eight years, it seems you are right to be proud to be American. And more importantly, billions around the globe agree with you!
It was amazing to watch the inauguration here...so many people here were really emotional about it! I wonder if he knows how many people are looking up to him?
